PGS India Certification Coordinator
Location: Field-based (travel within project areas required)
About the Role
We are looking for a PGS India Certification Coordinator to support farmers in the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) organic certification process. This is a field-oriented role involving farm visits, farmer interactions, data collection, and documentation.
This position is suitable for freshers interested in agriculture, organic farming, and rural fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities
1. Field Verification
• Visit farms to verify organic inputs used by farmers using the checklist provided by the organization.
• Observe and document farming practices as per PGS India guidelines
• Support farmers in understanding basic PGS requirements
2. Survey & Data Collection
• Fill PGS survey and certification forms through conversations with farmers
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of collected information
• Build trust-based communication with farmers
3. Data Entry & Documentation
• Enter collected field data into Excel sheets
• Maintain and organise farmer records and certification documents
• Support periodic reporting as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Fluency in Kannada (speaking)
• Working knowledge of English (intermediate)
• Comfortable interacting with farmers and working in rural areas
• Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry)
• Willingness to travel preferred (but Not Mandatory)
• Background in agriculture, rural development, or related fields
• Prior exposure to organic farming or PGS certification
• Experience with field surveys or data collection
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: ₹15,000 per month (for freshers)

Project & Research Associate
Location: South India (Hybrid; travel required)
About the Role
16 Doddi Trust is seeking a Project & Research Associate to work closely with the Project Lead on a long-term initiative focused on solidarity-based agroecology markets in South India. This role is collaborative and field-oriented, involving research, documentation, coordination, and sustained engagement with farming communities and collectives.
Given the relational and long-term nature of the work, this position requires a minimum commitment of two years.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research & Documentation
• Support desk research on agroecology, solidarity markets, collectives, and local food systems
• Assist in interviews, focus group discussions, and field visits
• Support transcription, synthesis, and drafting of reports, case studies, and learning notes
2. Field & People Engagement
• Coordinate with farmers, collectives, SHGs, NGOs, and movement actors
• Support workshops, meetings, and convenings
• Build and sustain respectful, trust-based relationships with community partners
3. Reporting & Communication
• Assist in preparing short reports, internal briefs, presentations, and documentation
• Support bilingual communication (English + Kannada/Tamil)
• Help organise project data, contacts, timelines, and learning outputs
Skills & Experience (Essential)
• Fluency in Kannada and Tamil (speaking required; reading/writing preferred)
• Comfortable working in English (basic reporting and communication)
• Strong people skills and the ability to listen and engage across diverse social contexts
• Interest in agroecology, food systems, collectives, or social justice–oriented work
• Willingness to travel and work in rural and peri-urban contexts
Skills & Experience (Preferred)
• Background in social sciences, development studies, agriculture, or related fields
• Experience working with NGOs, grassroots organizations, or community research
• Familiarity with South Indian rural contexts
Duration & Compensation
• Commitment: Minimum 2 years
• Compensation: ₹40,000–₹50,000 per month (commensurate with experience and skills)
• Travel and field-related expenses will be fully covered
