OUR STORY

We came here for the love of forests and the elephants and We now live here with the people. Ragihalli is a forest village in the Bannerghatta National Park near Bangalore having 16 hamlets/Doddis , each with social orders of its own. Our neighbourhood is special. We share the place with the elephants and live with everything else the forest has to offer.

Here at 16 Doddi Trust, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources to support the Ragihalli community. Since 2019, we’ve been supporting our community members in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Vishalakshi works towards enabling social, economic and environmental justice in food and agriculture systems. She provides strategic direction and vision to 16 Doddi Trust's work, involved in funding and advocacy, rural livelihood programs, and widen the scope of our impact.

Roopa develops long term goals, involved in the action steps for implementation of the various projects, aids in human resource decisions,provides inputs to strategy and development of our networks and relations with partners and donors.

Sumanth is a natural history filmaker from Bengaluru who has worked on numerous wildlife projects for various production houses and has received various awards and nominations for his work.He provides vision and help develop long term goals

A practising farmer and a resident of Kariappana Doddi, in Ragihalli Panchayat works in the bakery, learning new skills each day and has been a part of all of our projects.

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Shiva Kumar

Chief Accountant

Shiva works closely at the village and sees that all the statutory needs are met ,ensures back end work runs smoothly, oversees smooth delivering of payments and reimbursements, settling bills, preparing project expenses & reports etc.

Nikhil Shenoy

Program Head

A mechanical engineer passionate about organic agriculture, he is working on the Kai Thotha project . He is involved in implementing the project, interacting with Govt organisations, assisting interventions in the doddis, governance and engaging and capacity building the community.

Chaitra Raghu

Admin head and PGS Manager

A native of Ragihalli, Chaitra engages with the community on awareness programmes, aids in documentation of the work done, manages expenses, periodic reports and other statutory compliances.
